Bio:                                                         

Born in the 1980s Mr Thirkill grew up in Norwich where he attended City of Norwich School.

He studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Wadham College, Oxford - graduating in 2004.

After a short spell working as a civil servant for Kensington and Chelsea council he went into teaching - firstly in TEFL and then in the maintained sector qualifying at Keele University in Social Science.

His hobbies include mountain-biking, excellent food, cult movies and talking about himself in the third person.

His areas of academic interest include Sociological theory, Ethics, Classical Philosophy, Philosophy of Science and Critical theory.

Mr Thirkill is Head of Psychology and Sociology at a high performing boys school in Surrey. He has been a teacher, a Head of Sociology and a Deputy Head of House.

Mr Thirkill lives with Mrs Thirkill in Ashtead, they have many cats.  

Subjects taught: Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Extended Project Qualification, History and Geography at KS3.
